Pozývame Vás na cestu, kde čas stojí v pokoji a večnosť je prítomná v každom okamihu. Vzdajte sa prítomnosti a oddajte sa ceste, na ktorej sa čas stáva fluidným a nepodstatným. Vykročte smerom k poslaniu objavovať krásu jednoduchosti a minimalizmu. Svetelná inštalácia pracuje s nekonečnou repetíciou, ktorá pulzuje v rôznych tempách. Vďaka tomu sa motívy rozchádzajú, aby sa každých 62 taktov opäť stretli na rovnakom mieste, kde začali.
Vzdajme spolu hold umelcom ako La Monte Young, Terry Riley, Steve Reich, John Cage, Brian Eno a ďalším predstaviteľom avantgardy a minimalizmu.

Step towards a mission to discover the beauty of simplicity and minimalism. The light installation 62BARS works with infinite repetition that pulsates at different rates. As a result, the motifs diverge to meet again every 62 bars in the same place where they began.
Together, let us pay tribute to artists such as La Monte Young, Terry Riley, Steve Reich, John Cage, Brian Eno and other representatives of the avant-garde and minimalism.

Počiatočným bodom v práci so svetlom bolo pre Karlosa Šimeka Národní divadlo Brno, kde v roku 2010 začal pracovať ako osvetľovač. Na konci roku 2013 sa presunul z Brna do Prahy, kde začal pracovať ako vedúci osvetľovačov vo Švandovom divadle. Od roku 2015 sa živí ako freelance light designer, programátor a technik.
Ako svetelný dizajnér dlhodobo spolupracuje s Radimom Vizvárym a Danielom Špinarom. Jeho pracovné skúsenosti sú spojené taktiež s nezávislými súbormi ako Lenka Vagnerová & Company, Spitfire Company, Pražský komorní balet, Tantehorse, DEKKADANCERS a tanečníkmi Jarom Viňarským, Andrejom Petrovičom a Martinom Talagou, ktorého performance SOMA získala cenu za najlepšie predstavenie na festivale Česká taneční platforma 2018.
Spolupracoval s činohrou, operou i baletom všetkých troch Národných divadiel v ČR. Od roku 2014 pracuje ako stage manažér a technický produkčný medzinárodného festivalu pantomímy Mime Fest a od roku 2019 je taktiež členom fínskej MimoArt Company, s ktorými spolupracuje ako svetelný dizajnér a tour manažér. Práve vďaka mnohopočetným spoluprácam naprieč európskym umeleckým prostredím mal možnosť prezentovať svoju prácu na javiskách po celom svete.

For Karlos Šimek, the starting point in his work with light was the National Theatre in Brno, where he began working as a lighting technician in 2010. At the end of 2013, he moved from Brno to Prague, where he began working as head of lighting at the Švandovo Theatre. Since 2015 he has been working as a freelance light designer, programmer and technician.
As a lighting designer, he has a longstanding collaboration with Radim Vizváry and Daniel Špinar. His work experience is also connected with independent companies such as Lenka Vagnerová & Company, Spitfire Company, Prague Chamber Ballet, Tantehorse, DEKKADANCERS and dancers Jaro Viňarský, Andrej Petrovič and Martin Talaga (whose performance SOMA won the best performance award at the Czech Dance Platform 2018).
He has collaborated with drama theatre, opera and ballet of all three National Theatres in the Czech Republic. Since 2014 he has been working as stage manager and technical producer of the international Mime Fest and since 2019 he is also a member of the Finnish MimoArt Company, with whom he collaborates as lighting designer and tour manager. It is through multiple collaborations across the European artistic landscape that he has had the opportunity to present his work on stages around the world.
